Belarusian folklore collection of Sergei Saharov

Sergey Saharov folklore collection of Latvian Belarusian folklore includes 2793 folklore units in Belarusian and Russian. There are various genres in the collection, such as folk songs, nursery rhymes and children's songs, games, popular songs, proverbs, sayings, anecdotes, riddles, expressions, magic spells, tales, legends, stories, traditions and essays about folklore. Photos and musical notations also are included.

In the Archives of Latvian Folklore, the first folklore materials of Sergey Saharov were registered in 1936. Being exiled in Kazakhstan Saharov continued to collect and send folklore materials to Latvia.
