Shortly after the Autobiography Collection was launched, Rūta documented her daily thoughts and geography for a week and later submitted it to the collection. The diary entries were originally published on Rūta's Facebook profile: '9 June 2018. Influenced by the "Garamantas" campaign, I have decided to investigate what it is like to write a diary for a week. I have to admit that [husband] Guntars' absence for 9 days is just as much of an inspiration." The last diary entry was written a little later, in July 2018. It is dedicated to Rūta's emotions as a participant of the Latvian Song and Dance Festival. Rūta has documented her daily life in a concise form, managing to capture in a few sentences both the most important events of the day and reflections that go far beyond an individual's subjective sense of the world.
The diary entries reveal the young woman's reflections on her husband's military career, the social and political changes in Latvian society, her dynamic daily life in Pārdaugava with her son Miķelis, her efforts to balance her life between caring for a young child and her personal and professional interests.
